A dedicated messenger app for state agencies is being tested in Russia. Announcing the new product, Russian president's development advisor German Klimenko mentioned that so far, the first results were far from ideal, but did not go into details. Mr Klimenko also emphasised that in 2017 the project will be developed by the Internet Development Institute.

According to Mr Klimenko, the organisation is charged with developing a state-approved messenger app that would accommodate to each individual agency’s tasks and ways.

A specialised messenger is being developed because current apps fail to ensure confidentiality of communications.
